Because RJ works in the temple the 1st, 3rd and 5th Saturday of the month, we couldn’t get our tree until December 14th, Hunter’s birthday. For 7 years we have gone to a tree farm to cut down our tree but the thought of staying outside one more minute than necessary drove us to purchase one from a church lot to help youth pay for a service trip.
Our living room has continued to shrink as we have filled it with a piano, eliptical and large screen TV. We tried to talk the kids into a thinner tree this year to fit in the small space we had designated but Hunter would not budge and since it was his birthday, we went with the fattest tree on the lot! We named her Fluffy (the name is still up for debate. Some say Foofy and others..Fluffy).
Our ward Christmas party was that night so it was a busy day but at least we could start feeling like it was Christmas with our tree in the house.
